Pricing

We believe in transparent and simple fee structure. Our compensation is solely from fees paid by our clients. We do not receive any commissions or any compensation from third parties. We feel that accepting other forms of compensation would get in the way of doing what is best for our clients.

Investment management

We charge 85 basis points (or 0.85%) per year on accounts you want us to manage. We do not have to manage all of your investments – only the accounts that you feel comfortable with.

Our fees are calculated and charged on your accounts on a monthly basis. For example, on a $100,000 account, the fee would be $850 per year or $70.83 per month. If we do a good job increasing your portfolio value, then we are rewarded proportionally.

Your funds will be held by large, well-known brokerage firms under your name. We never take actual possession of your assets. We will never lock you in any contracts and you may terminate our service at any time, and there is never a cancellation fee.

We recommend our clients to stay invested for a long period of time and avoid the disruptions of making investments and taking money out in relatively short terms. However, we understand that life has emergencies and we uphold your decisions. We can usually get a check to you in a week or so, less time for automatic transfers.

Financial planning & other services

Financial planning
Financial planning comes with investment management as a free service within certain limits. The big idea is that if we have a relationship, then we are always available to help when possible. We like to help people. We understand that life is unpredictable and things happen.

Most clients have large accounts that generate more than enough fees. This allows us to work as much as needed without a conversation about hourly fees. Hourly fees apply only for a few people. We want to serve everyone who needs help and this gives us a way to help everyone.

Other services
We do not nickel and dime our clients. Many of our clients entrust us with their retirement savings, and we want to do our best to help them. When clients have a personal need of service, such as needing help with 401(k) allocations and other personal-finance questions, we typically offer our help at no cost.

The only time we charge hourly fees is when we (1) need to take on a project that requires extraordinary time and effort, or (2) need to bring in external expertise. Our hourly rate is $200, and we will always talk about our fees and come to an agreement with you before we start work.

We have set up our service fees so to make you feel safe and comfortable in coming to us with any request and questions. We will never charge you with a service fee that you are not comfortable paying.

We encourage you to download our brochure available on the “Resources” page and read more about our services and fees. Everything is written in plain English.
