Last week, I volunteered at a local food bank here in Austin, TX. Sometimes I just wake up and feel extra like helping, even after a hard leg day at the gym.
I loaded produce onto big pallets with three other guys. The produce is packaged into bags for individual families. At the end of the 3-hour shift, we loaded 8,450 pounds of food, estimated to be somewhere around 7,000 meals.
It was a good workout and felt like time well-spent. It is true you feel like you get more by giving!
